How to Keep Your Car Clean in the Rainy Fall

Keeping your car clean in the fall is slightly more challenging than in the summer when everything is sunny and dry. In today’s blog article, we are going to give you some hints on how to keep your car clean in the fall when it starts raining, here on the Lower Mainland and in Burnaby.
Shoes
Your shoes are probably the worst offenders because you are tracking water, dirt, and leaves into your vehicle. One solution is to keep a pair of clean shoes or slippers in the vehicle for driving and removing your wet ones. You can keep a rubber mat in the trunk or on the passenger side to place your wet and dirty ones. This will keep the driver’s side mat from getting caked with dirt.
Driver’s Side
If you don’t want to change your shoes, then if you regularly shake out the mat on the driver’s side—even if you do nothing else—that will limit the dirt and damage on the driver’s side. Washing that mat on a regular basis is even better. If you like, you could have a second mat on standby to put on the driver’s side when you pull out the regular one to wash.
Garbage Bag
A small garbage bag in the front passenger side, if you usually drive alone, or in the back if you often have a passenger, is useful all year round. Instead of tossing trash anywhere in the vehicle, a small, dedicated bag is easy to remove when it’s full and will go a long way to keeping your vehicle clean.
Washing the Vehicle
Don’t forget to wash your vehicle regularly in the fall. Rain leaves spots on the paint, and dirty water splashing onto your vehicle from the road needs to be regularly washed off. We have several convenient locations on the Lower Mainland including Burnaby to make this an easy exercise.
