How to Keep Your Car Clean in the Rainy Weather

It may seem a bit counterintuitive, but rainy weather makes a vehicle dirty. In the city, falling rain combines with airborne dirt, pollen, smoke, and other types of pollution to make rain pretty dirty. And you will find that when this rain dries on your vehicle, you will lots of spots, not to mention chemicals that may be eating up your paint. So, in today’s blog article, we want to give you some tips for keeping your vehicle clean in the rainy (winter) weather.

Wash Your Vehicle

Yes, even in rainy vehicle, the best way to keep your vehicle clean is to wash it. A lot. Seriously. Rainy brings all kinds of microscopic grit and chemicals onto your exterior paint, so washing is even more important in the winter than the summer. If the rain turns to sleet or snow, then roads will be salted—another insult to your paint job.

Cover Vehicles

Between washings, get your vehicle out of the rain, if possible. Keep it in the garage or cover it (when it is clean) with special automotive coverings designed to protect the exterior. Your exterior paint will last longer and look better if you keep the car out of the elements all year round as much as possible.

Front Carpets

Regularly shake out your front carpets and/or vacuum them. They will collect, not just dirt, but sand and gravel which grinds into the rug and abrades the carpet. This dirt and sand also damage your shoes when you are driving. So, both the vehicle’s interior and your shoes will look better and last longer if you keep those little rugs as clean as you are able.

Make car washing a regular part of your car maintenance for the best looking vehicle around.
